Admissions Overview

Admission to our school is based on a child's ability to learn well in the kind of environment our school provides. We aim to develop a community where parents and students can benefit from the diversity of each other's experiences and backgrounds. We pride ourselves on the variety of cultures, abilities, languages, religions, interests, and ethnicities represented in our school, reflecting the rich tapestry of the San Francisco Bay Area.

The admissions process consists of the following:

  1. Attendance at an open house or personal tour of the school
  2. Student Information form
  3. Parent Reflection form, which can be submitted by email
  4. Application fee ($30), which can be paid online
  5. Interview with one or both parents
  6. Child classroom visit
  7. Reference from current teacher (download K-1 form or grades 2-5 form here)
  8. Records submitted from current school
  9. In some cases a phone consultation with current teacher

After an acceptance letter is given, the family has one week to notify the school of enrollment, and two weeks to submit a deposit, after which a child's place may be offered to another family. Please see our tuition page for details on tuition assistance.

After enrollment, the school will schedule a special family visit with one or two teachers. This is an opportunity for our staff to learn more about a family's history, culture, interests, and values, in order to create ties of greater understanding between the family and school.
